to grow, to heal & to love

BELİNAY here~ hope you are well and eating good :) i have been recovering from a surgical procedure i had done on my finger recently, and the other night, i suddenly felt this immense gratitude for my body and how she shows up each and every time to heal me (even for just my mere, little index finger). seeing my finger’s progress each day, seeing her rejuvenate, gain her strength, become mobile again, it was inspiring and i felt the need to thank my body. this poem is also just a love note to my whole body in general, without her making sure everything is functioning properly, i would not be typing this right now, lol.

so, with this, i hope you also find gratitude and love for your body. it can be hard, and i’ve had my own fair share of insecurities and issues, but the fact that i’m still here and have grown to fall in love with myself again through this flesh is something to acknowledge and be proud of. no matter where you are in your journey of appreciating your body and loving yourself, i hope this poem can allow you to be kinder to your body today :)

to grow, to heal, & to love:

through every heartbeat, through every heartbreak

i have been supported like i am still in the womb

knowing what i need before i do

so sacrificial, even without acknowledgment

this body was beautifully made for me

where my soul decided to reside

before the eventual journey back to my creator

i dance to honor you, let’s continue to grow together

not stuck with this flesh only out of need, but out of love and desire

i was beautifully made for this body
