showing up

hey everyone~ how are you? me personally, i’ve been juggling a lot of personal duties and just went through a hand procedure (ouch), but we’re all here living and breathing, so waking up today is enough to be grateful for! however, sometimes i feel overwhelmed, guilty, or neglectful when i get too busy to write new poems or if i’m in a season where i’m not feeling creative enough to write something “good enough.” and sometimes, my own self-doubt and fears creep in to deter me from achieving something.

i wrote showing up this morning as a reminder to myself and to you that no matter who hard life gets, don’t give up on what you truly want for yourself. you may feel like you’re “not doing enough”, and maybe you’re even purposely stalling out of the many “what-ifs” clouding your judgement, but you have to keep showing up in life, whether in tiny or big ways. just by you not giving up is also the act of showing up, sometimes there is still action within your perceived inaction. i also purposely wrote this as a haiku to show that showing up can be simple, yet still intentional, and as my own example of showing up, even in a smaller way than usual. plus, they’re super fun to write :)

“what matters is showing up,” and what really matters will eventually show up in your life in due time.

here is showing up:

your time is coming—

what matters is showing up.

i’m so proud of you

i hope this not only gives you the boost you need to keep going, but also serves as a simple reminder to give yourself permission to be easy on yourself. when you feel like you haven’t done enough, remind yourself of all the other things you’ve already accomplished. you are worthy! treat yourself gently, my love <3

within stillness,

BELİNAY
